Las Vegas
Our next stop was Las Vegas, where luxury, exaggeration and lights with astonishing buildings and hotels with casinos are the ultimate product of the city.
In comparison with the above mentioned, Las Vegas consists of neighborhoods and areas where exaggeration, neon lights and wealth are not existing at all. These are the areas where natives staying, employees (most probably working at some of those casinos, hotels and restaurants), where the majority of the visitors will never visit. At the same time, villas of celebrities and rich people are easy to be spotted from above, since during the landing of the airplanes, all these are passing through the sight of each passenger that looks out of the window, revealing the actual sizes of their pools. The airport located within the city, since the whole city is surrounded from the desert of Nevada.
Our arrival at Venetian Resort was exactly the same as we were expected to be. This is most probably the best resort in town and by far, the best we have stayed so far. Huge, astonishing, located at famous Strip or Las Vegas Boulevard, makes you love it form the first sight. Unique lobby with beautiful decoration, big, reception in airport’s size, pools, gondolas (at internal and external areas), casinos, restaurants, bars, café, bakeries, high end brand shops, walls painted like Michelangelo’s paintings, spa, modern and glamourous rooms, large with the exact comfort that everybody expects to find in a suite (since all rooms are suites at the resort). The aspect that makes this resort unique is the simulation of Saint Mark square of Venice at the second floor of the Venetian Tower. Gondolas, shops, restaurants, café, gelaterie, bridges and an artificial sky, which changes color each few minutes. When you decide to have a meal at one of
those restaurants in the aquare and get lucky, you might see some of the serenaders that singing classic Italian songs, providing a unique magic touch, a real journey to Venice.
An actual walk in Strip takes one hour to go and the same to return and it is absolutely capable to load at your memory so many pictures and capture views really memorable, since the spectacle is unique and cannot be found nowhere else (beside maybe Dubai). Linq Promenade, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty and Fontana di Trevi are bringing the whole world into one street. At the same street you can meet all the famous and expensive hotels, like Venetian Resort, Ceasar’s, Bellagio and its famous fountains, MGM, Excalibur, Luxor and many more.
Regarding our gastronomy orientation, there are restaurants with Michelin awards, but there is not Michelin guide for Las Vegas. Ten are the restaurants in total that have been awarded with Michelin stars and these are, one with three 3*** Michelin stars, two with two 2** and seven with one 1*. There are many other restaurants within the resorts and hotels, exceptional restaurants, that their menus have and have not been signed from some famous chef, both with great outcome.
One of the ultimate musts you have to do in Vegas, is to watch a real show of music, acrobats, dance, like Cirque du Soleil. A marvelous production with dancers and acrobats world class, a must see show.
Close to Vegas located the Grand Canyon national park, where nature shows what actually can create. Deserves to be visited, experience of a lifetime, through vehicle or helicopter, depends on your budget available.
As a final conclusion, Las Vegas is a Dinseyland for adults, where a three nights stay is enough, in order to see everything and fill yourself with memorable experiences.
Articles for Los Angeles will follow, the last for this trip with huge interest.
