FOOD LOSS & FOOD WASTE
As food loss considered the decrease in quality or quantity of food that comes out from actions or decisions taken by the food supplier throughout the chain, from the harvest/slaughter/catch up to the retail, excluding retail from this definition.
On the other hand, food waste can be defined as the decrease in quality or quantity of food that comes out from retailers, food service providers and consumers.
Less food waste and loss would lead to more efficient land use and better water management with positive impacts on climate change and livelihoods.
